lighting is one of the most critical aspects of shooting a great music video. Even if you have one of the finest actors it won't matter if you don't have the perfect lighting system or lighting equipment. An aesthetic/good lighting can change the whole vibe of the song and will take the music video to the next level. Good lighting attracts the audience and engages them in the video.
The basic lighting is called three-point lighting. It consists of three lights.
key light - strongest light in the shot.
fill light- that fills shadows on your main subject’s face.
Back or rim lighting -adds depth to your shot by giving a soft background glow to your subject
There are many other types of lighting which include Dramatic indoor lighting( usually for indoor shots ), outdoor natural lighting( the best time to shoot in the natural lighting is shooting in the golden hour). But you just get 25 minutes to 30 minutes to shoot in the golden hour because it's after the sunrise when the sunrays are lighter. Next comes top backlighting. For this, you just need one light and a perfect or solid background mostly the plain ones. Then comes two-point lighting. In this, just two lights are placed in front of the model/object. Another one is Led tube lighting. this lighting setup is in high demand these days and it's one of my favourites because it just changes the whole vibe of the picture/video making you look really cool and aesthetic.
