There are a lot many ways to edit a video mainly it all depends on the genre of the video.

Transition is one of the elements in video editing. Transition is basically a technique in the video editing process to merge two videos together. It helps to connect two videos together.
transitions are not always flashy and noticeable they are mostly invisible if used properly.
the most commonly used transitions are Straights, fades/dissolves, crossfade/dissolve wipes flashes, etc. There are also 3d transitions too.
color correction is the process in which the color, contrast and saturation of the video/photograph is been adjusted to make it look more real and natural.
