production: shoot day

As we had gained experienced from our Mock shoot, we tried to avoid the same mistakes on our final shoot day. Also, as we had to shoot a continuous video we had to wrap up our shoot in the same day. Both me and Fajar reached college on time around 8 and had called our actress around 10 as we needed atleast 2 hours to set up the area. The first thing that both of us did was to cover the windows and the door with black chart papers which took around 45 mins and the next step was to move the chairs and the table to a corner so we have empty space. As, we had extra extensions this time we decided to set up all the lighting before beginning the shoot and just turning the buttons on during the shoot. We set up the main warm light with red cellophane on a chair in the middle of the room so the light would fall everywhere, 2 RGB lights set near the front door on fading mood as colours changed, flickering light was also setup near the foil curtain background. Once, all the lights were set up it was around 10: 30 and our model had arrived. I got plants from the ground and set them up outside the music rooms door as it was required for our starting shots. Our model changed into her outfit and did her makeup and everything was ready around 11 30. We requested a few of our friends to hold the white cloth behind our model for the starting shot and asked 2 friends to help us in holding the RGB lights in the beginning as I was busy in cinematography and Fajar was sitting near the extension controlling the smoke machine and light switches as Fajar had to turn the red light on at a certain point. The first shot took a multiple retakes as we had some interruptions by other students in between as everybody was eager to know what was going on, sometimes the model didn't lip sync accurately or didn't follow the instructions or the timing of turning the other light on wasn't okay. We had to cut the shot at a point as we had to install the RGB lights behind the foil curtain which were used in the beginning we took a little break and gave our model some rest and started to set up the RGB strip lights. The second shot took a lot of time as the model had to start from the same point the previous shot was cut so it could look as a one take video. For the second shot we started around 1, after the foil curtain shot Fajar ran to the corner and turned the flickering light on after that she had to turn a blue light on and smoke machine. At the end of the shot she turned all the lights off to fade out the song. Around 2 45, it was a wrap as we found shots that seemed good enough. Both of us cleared the music room and packed everything up as we couldn't leave college property with our belongings. We got food from the cafeteria and took a breath of fresh air.
